The BVB course is just a few moments away. On this occasion we would like to present an interesting history of cooperation between the WBS Warsaw Football Academy and Borussia Dortmund.
The idea was born in the head of Project Manager Łukasz Sarbiewski, who was fascinated by Borussia and was visiting Dortmund, and when he visited the stadium, he introduced his idea to the guide, which allowed him to reach to start working with the management of the club. Together with Sports Director Thomas Weber went in May 2014 to start talks on cooperation opportunities. There was a vision of our Academy, the principles we are leading, and a plan for the future. The club authorities accepted the request and in 2014, young players from Warsaw trained in Dortmund.
-We decided to start working with BVB because of the similar principles we embrace. Solidarity and great work with young people - pointed Sarbiewski.
The first action did not have to wait long, as already 18.06.2014 three teams from the WBS Academy went to Germany to make technical training and coordination under the supervision of the trainers BVB. We also visited the main stadium of Borusia Dortmund - Signal Iduna Park. On the spot we took part in the Juniorcup tournament, where we are every year until today. It features representatives of youth teams from the biggest clubs in the world Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Juventus Turin.
Everything went very well and developed at a rapid pace. Already in early 2015, Borussia announced that they will make the course for 80 young players, and the partner of this event would be the WBS Football Academy. This training was another stage in our fruitful collaboration. The BVB trainers have visited us several times, and at the grand opening of Wille Brandt's school they have prepared special school games for the students.
The holiday course was conducted in a perfect way, which was confirmed by parents and participants of the course. It was a great echo in the media, the course was shown among others on the channel Connect us Ball, and its patronage took place Mayor Wilanow - Ludwik Rakowski.
As in 2014, in 2015 and 2016 WBS Warsaw players traveled to Germany to be able to train at Borusia Dortmund and participate in Juniorcup. Young players trained under the supervision of the coaches of the BVB and also on football facilities. This year we have managed to take six teams, which will be for many young players to fulfill football dreams.
Examples of Błaszczykowski, Piszczek and Lewandowski showed that BVB is convinced of our compatriots and wants to discover the Polish football world. Our cooperation with Borussia lasts almost 3 years and it is really intense and full of time. We believe that our cooperation is fruitful for both parties and we, as the whole great football family, are working for the benefit of future players. The next course under the BVB banner will take place for just a few moments and is currently under preparation.
